A Lifetime in the Music Business

Kevin Powell

For all intents and purposes - Kevin has been in the music business from his birth. His father, an industry veteran, Johnny Powell, worked at iconic A&M Records in the early 1970's well into the 80's before moving on to Arista Records. Some of his earliest memories are of meeting Karen Carpenter and seeing Cat Stevens in concert.

MUSIC. MARKETING. PROMOTION.

From his earliest backstage memories, Kevin loved the excitement of the music industry. Passionate about live music and music in general he began his career at AIR in 1990 - a promotion and marketing firm where he eventually became General Manager. He then segued to Epic Records - part of the Sony Music family.

During his time as Vice President of Promotion at Epic he worked with artists from Sara Bareilles to Tori Amos and The Fray as well as icons like Ozzy Osborne and Jennifer Lopez. In 2008 he set out on his own to create his own marketing and promotion firm. In the last 8 years he has partnered with dozens of bands and musicians - famous and soon to be famous - with the goal of delivering first class customer service. Kevin also found the time to finish his MBA in Marketing from Loyola University/Maryland in 2012.
